  • Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted)
  • Resume Content: All information contained in uploaded resumes including contact details, work history, education, skills, and other professional information
  • Profile Information: Any additional information you provide through your profile settings
  • Payment Information: Processed and stored by Razorpay (our payment processor), not on our servers

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you access our services, we automatically collect:

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, time spent, interaction patterns
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, IP address
  • Analytics Data: We use PostHog Analytics and Vercel Analytics to track user behavior and improve our services
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: Session cookies, authentication tokens, and analytics cookies

2.3 Resume File Data

When you upload a resume PDF, we:

  • Extract text content from your PDF file
  • Store the file temporarily in Sanity CMS for analysis
  • Use AI (OpenAI/Gemini) to analyze and extract structured data
  • Generate a unique hash of your file to prevent duplicate processing
  • Store analysis results and recommendations associated with your account

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To provide resume analysis, ATS scoring, resume building, and related features
  • Account Management: To create and maintain your account, authenticate users, and manage subscriptions
  • AI Processing: To analyze your resume using our AI algorithms and generate recommendations
  • Product Improvement: To understand user behavior, improve features, and develop new functionality
  • Communication: To send service updates, respond to inquiries, and provide customer support
  • Analytics: To monitor usage patterns, measure performance, and improve user experience
  • Security: To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

4. Chrome Extension

The ResuAI Chrome extension lets you review job postings and, if you choose, your LinkedIn profile without leaving your browser. This section explains what the extension reads, where that data goes, what we store, and what the extension does not do.

4.1 What the Extension Reads

  • Job Posting Details: When you view a job posting on a supported job board, the extension reads the job title, company name, and job description
  • LinkedIn Profile Information: Only when you explicitly click "Run full AI review," the extension reads the content of your own LinkedIn profile, including your headline, About section, experience, education, skills, and certifications

4.2 Where This Data Goes

Data read by the extension is sent to resuai.co servers over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) solely to generate your analysis or review. Your LinkedIn profile data is processed to produce the review response. It is not sold, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with third parties, except our AI processing provider used to generate the review.

4.3 What We Store

  • Saved Jobs: Stored in your account only when you click "Save to my tracker"
  • LinkedIn Profile Reviews: Processed to generate your review response and not retained as a stored copy of your profile

4.4 What the Extension Does Not Do

  • No collection of your browsing history
  • No reading of pages other than supported job boards and your own LinkedIn profile
  • No background scraping (reads happen only when you use the feature)
  • No ads
  • No selling of your data
  • No storage of passwords or session tokens within the extension itself; it relies on your existing resuai.co sign-in

4.5 Chrome Web Store Compliance

Our collection and use of data through the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4.6 Uninstalling the Extension

Uninstalling the extension stops all data collection through it immediately. You can delete your account data at any time as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy.

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform:

  • Razorpay: Payment processing and billing
  • Sanity CMS: Content management and data storage
  • OpenAI/Gemini: AI-powered resume analysis and text extraction
  • PostHog Analytics: User behavior analytics, funnels, and product insights
  • Vercel: Hosting, deployment, and analytics
  • Auth0: Authentication and user identity management

These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

5.2 We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or resume data to third parties for marketing purposes.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

6. Data Storage and Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS)
  • Secure Storage: Data is stored in secure, encrypted databases with Sanity CMS
  • Access Controls: Strict access controls limit who can view or modify your data
  • Password Security: Passwords are hashed and encrypted using industry-standard algorithms
  • Regular Security Audits: We regularly review and update our security practices

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure
  • Resume Data: Stored in your account until you delete it or close your account
  • Analytics Data: Aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement
  • Payment Records: Retained by Razorpay according to their policies and legal requirements

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us or deleting your account through your account settings.

8. Your Privacy Rights
